Hiking is perfectly possible from Monplaisir or via one of the many signposted hiking trails in the area. More information about this is available in the house. Or you could follow one of our walks on your smartphone or GPS using our GPX files.
The region is fantastic for cyclists. Keep in mind that it’s quite hilly which sometimes results in tough slopes and beautiful descents. In any case, this is an ideal way to see and experience more of the region. The beautiful views, vineyards, sunflowers, wine castles, bastides (old fortified towns built like eagles’ nests on a steep hill, such as Tournon d’Agenais, Montaigu, Monflanquin and Penne d’Agenais in the immediate vicinity). And of course there’s the sporting challenge in itself to ensure that you as a cyclist can give the best of yourself.
We’ll be more than happy to tell you about our favourite routes when you are our guest.
With a bit of luck you’ll be able to spot a deer or a roe. Here and there you will be surprised by a gariotte, these are typical shelters built with stones stacked on top of each other.
